The stylish and fashion favorite of many, Gwen Stefani, will be launching a children’s collection with Target! ‘Harajuku Mini’ is set to include graphic tees, zip up hoodies and tiered tutus. Gwen says “Harajuku Mini is a dream come true. I’ve always wanted to do a cool children’s fashion line inspired by the super-cute and playful kid’s clothing you find in Japan. The whole idea is about being creative, expressing your own individuality and having fun getting dressed.” Target (America’s favorite store), is becoming the place to shop for budget friendly designers. After the mayhem caused by Missoni this recent month, I’m sure they are excited to receive more of that action! Gwen’s collection is set to launch on November 13th, ranging from sizes 6 months to 16yr and prices $4 to $30. I can’t wait to see the entire lookbook! I love Gwen’s style, so I’m quite sure this will be a hit!
The strong, bold and striking color red is blazing hot all over the red carpets, magazine spreads and runways! This fierce color looks great when partnered with prints, navy and camel. It’s kinda like mixing hot and cold to create a warm color palette and a wonderful outfit. Turn heads and make a statement in an all red look from head to toe, like Kerry Washington! Who said wearing red on the carpet was a crime? Kerry for sure made that “don’t” a “do” lol! Scared to walk on the bright side? Try pairing a neutral with a red, to tone it down so that you won’t feel overwhelmed with the color. Auntie June and Chanel Iman, went this route by pairing their bold cocktail dresses with nude platforms.
The 3 K’s shows how to rock the color 3 different ways. Kourt completely covered in red, Kim mixing the shade with a neutral pump and Khloe rocking it out with animal print and denim. The different styles that you can achieve with the color red are endless..
If red isn’t your color, give raspberry or burgundy a try instead! Solange and Emmanuelle Chriqui look retro chic in their burgundy trousers…
Confess Your Glam, are you a fan of the color red in your wardrobe?
The eclectic designer, Jeremy Scott — best known for his fun, wild and colorful style — didn’t disappoint with his latest Fall RTW 2011 collection. Headlining his 90′s Rave inspired collection were sequin slogan tees, bubble gum colors, lighting bolts and plastic raincoats. Since it’s debut, this wild, fun and highly sought after collection has been trending like crazy!! The popular “Enjoy God” slogan has become a fan favorite with fashionistas everywhere. Cassie was b-girl fly rockin her “Enjoy God” Coke themed sweats, while hosting 106th & Park. Katy Perry went for a more vintage look, pairing her tank with a high-waist leather skirt and quilted Chanel bag. The animated Nicki Minaj looked colorful at the Casio Launch Party with her bride of Frankenstein wig and Jeremy Scott leather jacket ensemble…straight off the runway.
“You should have fun with fashion.” says the fashion visionary, and I agree 100%!

Hey Glam-Aholics!! Recently we launched a new column called “Ask Bri”, where we take your request for finding a look that you saw a celeb rocking or you simply just need some fashion advice! I’m happy to announce that we’ve received our first request from Glam-Aholic Trisha!
“I recently just brought a maxi skirt and I’m looking for 3 looks that I can wear: 1) to the office 2) casually 3) on a date.”
For the office: Take a simple approach by combining your maxi skirt with a long sleeve button-up blouse and Mary Jane pumps…
Casual: For effortless weekend look, layer your maxi with a long cardigan, graphic tee and suede ankle boots…
Date: This Fall it’s all about pairing masculine & feminine pieces together. To achieve a menswear inspired look rock a tuxedo jacket with your full length maxi skirt and lace up booties…
Thanks Trisha for sending in your request! I hope this response was helpful!

What woman doesn’t like to throw on her boyfriend/husband’s crisp white button up, with a pair of leggings or ripped jeans and run a few errands? lol! Well now that oversized look has turned into a trend! There’s nothing sexier than a woman rockin’ menswear. Men inspired pieces; blazers, trousers, vests, bow ties and oxfords are all big this year! To achieve a great menswear style, the key is in the tailoring and the fit. You want to make sure your pieces aren’t too boxy and hides your silhouette, the point of this look is too look sexy while wearing masculine pieces…
Although it’s “menswear” you want to make sure you add touches of femininity to the look. Try mixing in some vibrant colors, a sheer or lace top and bold statement accessories. Great wavy hair and a bright red or pink pout, will set this trend on fire! I love the versatility of this..allowing you to raid his closet and yet add your own girly twist to it!
“Sex.Clothes.Popularity. Is there a problem?”, this was the tagline used to describe “Clueless”, the 1995 hit film that centered around a group of high school students with an addiction for fashion and shopping! It seems like yesterday when I first saw Clueless. I was only 7 yrs old yet already a pop culture junkie. Instead of seeing Disney’s “Pocahontas”, I begged my step-dad to take me to see this iconic movie. As the opening scene rolled, I was captivated by the main character, Cher Horowitz, a Beverly Hills teen queen with a preppy style who shopped religiously and had a knack for catch phrases…”As if”.
Every morning Cher made sure she looked like a Polaroid of perfection using her computer program to generate fashionable looks. Her sexy school girl style and revolving closet was every teenage girl’s obsession (and still mine lol!). Cher’s fashion knowledge never went unnoticed. Who could forget the memorable scene when Cher is mugged and tries to explain to the robber why she can’t lay on the ground, “You don’t understand, this is Alia”. The character’s signature style of faux fur handbags, plaid suits, knee high socks and dolly shoes declares her a 90′s fashion icon.
Cher’s BFF Dionne, was just as fashion forward as she was. The fashionista had a taste for big hats, hoop nose rings and funky prints. The spunky Dionne always played up her favorite accessory, her mirco box braids. “I do not wear polyester hair.” lol! Whether her hair was twisted in vibrant ribbons, clipped in flower barrettes or abstract hats, she always looked cutting edge!
When new girl (and fashion reject) Tai arrives at school, Cher and Dionne decide to use their popularity for good and orchestrate a make-over for the less fortunate. With the help of coke cans as hair rollers, cut off tops and flawless makeup, Tai is transformed into a “Total Betty”. In the memorable “rolling with the homies” scene, she wore a red and black striped top under a plaid blazer. Tai’s mismatch pattern style is still being replicated today!
The fashion of Clueless still manages to influence the fashion of the present day. Miu Miu 2010 pre Fall collection was centered around Cher’s 1995 signature look. Her other looks of sheer blouses, bodycon dresses (thanks to Calvin Klein) and argyle sweaters are classic staples in every girl’s closet.
16 years later and I’m still able to identify myself in this film. From being a “virgin who can’t drive” to “only having direction towards the mall”! Cher, Dionne and Tai’s style made me understand that fashion is about taking risk and having fun! Clueless will forever be apart of me!
