Ask Bri: Maternity Style Guide

Pregnancy is a blessing. There’s nothing more fulfilling than carrying a growing miracle in your belly.  Although when you’re dealing with morning sickness, being fatigue and chronic pain, it’s kind of hard to look and feel great! But, just because you’re pregnant doesn’t mean you can’t look and feel beautiful and stylish, while being comfortable. The key is to put together stylish looks in your wardrobe that are flattering and will adapt to your growing body. In order to make our Glam-Aholic mommies look stylish, we’ve put together a maternity style guide using our favorite celeb moms as inspiration. Make their style your own by incorporating these essential items into your maternity wardrobe!

Oversize Tops– Long tunics and flowy blouses are perfect at flattering your figure when paired with a get set of  jeans or leggings.

Jacket/Vest (Loose fit) – Don’t worry about buttoning that vest or jacket, leave it open to show off that bump!  You can even pair it with a dress for an office appropriate look.

Maxi– Beat the heat in a breezy maxi dress and still look fashionable. Essential for the beach and great for when you’re on the go, plus it gives an adorable glimpse of that growing belly. It can also transition from day to night when you style with heels or flats, when you wanna look cute for the hubby lol!

Leggings-Leggings are a must have item when you’re pregnant because of the elastic waistband. Their roomy, comfortable and even stretches as your bump grows.  It’s common for pregnant women to wear leggings during the entire 9 months, no wonder why Beyonce was addicted to bottoms when she was carrying baby Blue…they’re so comfy yet stylish!

Mini– A mini dress is flowy and light-weight and superb for those hot Summer days. It also gives you opportunity to showcase your lovely legs on date night with the soon-to-be dad.

Jumpsuit-Who said pregnant women wouldn’t look chic rockin a jumpsuit?! Whether she styles it with a blazer or fedora; Kourtney Kardashian knew exactly that the effortlessly loose jumper would work for her maternity shape.

By incorporating these key pieces into your maternity wardrobe, there’s no doubt that you’ll hit a style home run every time until your bundle of joy arrives! Then that will be another Style Guide…”How to stay cute while chasing after an toddler?” LOL

  1. I’m not a mother as of yet, but whenever I do start my family I want to be stylish like Beyonce during my pregnancy. I mean, throughout the entire time she looked amazing. I don’t know how Jessica was able to walk in those heels in that picture of her in the maxi dress. I can barely make it a day in shoes that high and I’m not even pregnant!

  2. As a mom, I know all to well about keeping your “FLAVA” when expecting and after… The object is to never lose your identity or let them see you looking a hot mess, lol My dream is to grow into a Kris Jenner type of fly-er mom.
