I’m not a fan of KMart. There…I said it. I don’t like the dark, dreary, old school decor. It doesn’t get me excited to shop and spend money. Here on Confessions Of A Glam-Aholic, we are #TeamTarget! But once I heard that Nicki Minaj teamed up with KMart for her latest collection, I decided to check it out. No, I didn’t rush out to the store like I do when designers drop at Target, instead as I drove by a KMart I said to myself “let me stop in here and see what Nicki got for me.” lol
Bright, sexy and Barbie-ish are all the ways to describe her pieces. The printed bomber jacket w/matching leggings and the high-waist jeans caught my eye when I viewed the look book online. With that being said, those were the items I decided to try on. I instantly felt like an “around-the-way-girl”! Young, hip and trendy…the only thing missing were some bamboo earring…two pair to be exact lol
The jeans fit GREAT with a lot of stretch for women like Nicki and myself that have a little junk in the trunk. The bomber jackets and crop top were dope enough to add to your wardrobe if you’re feeling a little funky. But, the leggings were my least favorite, I didn’t really like the material or the stretch for my figure. The quality is to be expected for pieces that range from $22-$32. No matter how good/bad some may critique her collaboration with KMart, I still commend her for offering her style/designs that are affordable for people of her fan base.
She also has an array of colorful clutches that were really cute and adorable! She certainly added a lot of color to the aisles of KMart. All around I would say that I believe these are definitely pieces you would probably find in Nicki’s closet (more expensive and a better quality), but her collection is definitely a reflection of her style…
