The Glam-Aholic Experience: Arjaunjubri’s Head To Toe

When I got wind of The Glam-Aholic Experience: Celebrating Mia Ray Day, I knew I had to bring it! Besides the fact that it was celebration for my dear Mia Ray, this would be our very first event back post pregnancy! I know our Glam-Aholics missed us and of course the fashion we bought to every event so, this was indeed the time to turn it up! When it’s time for style, you can best believe I start my process first by searching for inspiration and then it’s time to draw the concept out in my handy dandy fashion notebook. Uh huh honey, it gets deep, I’m like Picasso when I get inspired about a look!

VARIOUS FILM STILLS

While scanning though Netflix, I stumbled across “Valley Of The Dolls” a 1960’s film centered around three women on their rise and fall journey for fame and fortune.  Very good movie by the way but, I just couldn’t stop myself from pausing the movie to stare at their beautiful and feminine outfits. As soon as the movie went off, my light bulb went up and I knew I had found my look I wanted to wear for the event!

I always like to start with my shoes first and then work my way up. I found the cutest rose gold lace up booties at urbanog.com for under $40! Being that baby pink is hottest color this season and I can’t get enough of PVC (Polyvinyl chloride) skirts lately, it was match made in heaven when I found a baby pink pvc skirt at missguided.com! I strongly believe in having a good tailor to ensure that your clothes will fit you just right. Especially, if you’re like me who likes to go in and reconstruct an item until it’s just how I  want it.  And, that PVC material over these momma hips was not budging baby so; I had to visit my tailor and rework my skirt for a proper fit. With the help of Max of 4-1 Tailoring, she was able to add lace inserts to make the skirt stretch and easier to move in. Paired with textured high neck top that I purchased from Topshop I was ready to make my entrance.

I can’t forget about our Glam Squad! My fav Alisha Taylor completed my time period concept by giving me very 60’s hair with half up and half down baby doll curls! Just when I thought I was finished Cassandra Ward painted my face like I was going to spending a week with Marilyn Monroe!

I know they say it takes a village to raise a child but, it takes a village to create a look too! LOL!
