My life has been a bit of a whirlwind for the past 3 to 4 months, so much that I forgot to officially announce to my readers (via my blog), that I am no longer a Detroiter. I’ve moved down South to become a Georgia Peach/ATLien. My transition has been a huge pill to swallow with adjusting to my new surroundings and stepping outside of my comfort zone, but I’m always up for a challenge…so I’m enjoying the ride! One of the most exciting things that I’m currently enjoying during my journey is getting to decorate my new home. You all know how much I love home decor, and now that I actually have a home to decorate…I don’t know how to act lol!
I have been on a Pinterest, HGTV, Home Goods, interior decor binge for the past few weeks trying to figure out how to decorate my space exactly the way I want. I’ve promised myself to take it slow by tackling and completing a particular section of each room at a time. I just had to figure out where I was going to start. After mastering the art of building the perfect mattress, I’m now on to the next battle!
I’d been complaining about the shelves in my bathroom closet being so unorganized and each day that I opened the closet door…the mess drove me crazy! During my weekly visit to TJ Maxx, I noticed these gorgeous rose gold baskets that immediately caught my eye. There’s absolutely nothing spectacular about these baskets besides the color. This shade of metal just feels so rich and rare to me, that I immediately felt that I needed to add it to the ambiance of my new home…being perfect to hold the items in my bathroom closet that were driving me bananas. I immediately grabbed every basket on the shelf, dashed home to make sure they were a perfect fit…only to realize that I loved them, but needed more! In true TJ Maxx “inconsistent inventory” fashion, I had to search about 4/5 other locations, only to find one basket. I put out a search alert to my Glam-Aholics on Snapchat (@OfficialMiaRay) that I was in need of rose gold baskets. After an overload of responses, that’s when I noticed something. A TREND!

Yes, even home trends happen. There is rose gold decor everywhere, and I almost let it slip by me! Target, Anthropologie, Walmart and even H&M are serving rose gold goodness. I decided to take a trip to Anthropologie to grab a gorgeous basket that was perfect for my smaller toiletries. It worked out perfectly with my other baskets. #Score
I’m currently trying to figure out if I’m going to deck my entire bathroom out with this trend, or keep it strictly within my closet. We shall see! I’ll continue to share more of my home decor projects with you guys. I find decorating my home just as fun as decorating my wardrobe! 🙂
