While catching up on the latest articles in my fashion bible “ELLE”, I noticed shiny metallics were on every page I turned. The bold 3D material was on everything and I mean everything, accessories, shoes, coats, dresses, tops and even nails. And before I made an impulsive buy, I immediately ran to my closet to see if I already owned something metallic. Don’t you hate when sometimes you shop so much, that you go out and the buy the same thing twice! This happens to me all the time and then I’m super irritated when I have to return it the next day…or maybe that’s just me LOL Good thing I checked my closet because I found a metallic top that I’d purchased from H&M back in February!
Since I’d worn this top before with a pair of jeans, this time around I wanted to make my look a bit more upscale. I was so inspired by Diesel’s Spring 2012 RTW look, with the structured shirt hanging out over a metallic top…I had to remix it! With my focal piece out of the way, I still needed something else in my look that would make it POP! I’d picked up a pair of turquoise cropped pants from H&M for $7 that I couldn’t leave behind. The fact that I’m so short, the pants rest exactly at my ankles, allowing me to wear them like regular length pants for my look. I twisted my hair up in a messy bun and slipped on my Vince Camuto snakeskin pumps.
After looking at my picture it kind of reminded me of Blake Lively’s Gossip Girl look with the metallic blazer. I must have had that image stuck in my mind, while I was putting this look together. Ya’ll know I love a good remix! LOL

But anyway, of course I put my own twist to the look. It’s all about being inspired, not actually copying the look. I went for a wider belt from H&M to go around my waist, my brown wedges from Forever 21 that I’ve had for at least 5 years and I wanted to add a tad bit of color since everything was so neutral…so I rocked my little houndstooth crossbody bag from Target.
