Last year I oooh’d and ahhh’d over Leona Lewis’ sexy new make-over, I just couldn’t get over her Barbie-esque new style. Well, after this weekend of fun, I scrolled through my pictures and thought back to these looks!
Over the weekend, I celebrated my BFF’s birthday and was wrecking my brain on what to wear. I knew I wanted to wear something bright, so I pulled out my neon pink dress that I’d purchased last year but had never worn. I had always planned to wear it as a skirt and never as a dress so I had to pick the perfect top. I always tell everyone that simplicity is always the best route to go when you’re not sure of what to wear. I decided to color block (again) and buy a basic neon green tank top…
I slit the tank top up the middle so that I would be able to tie it into a knot, to dress up the tank. Unlike Leona, that went with a pair of nude pumps, I blocked from head to toe. Absolutely no accessories except for a pair of bamboo earrings and my gold Michael Kors watch. I felt that my outfit was doing enough and didn’t want to OVER do it!
I finished with this little neon houndstooth crossbody bag that I picked up from Forever 21 for $12.99. And BAM…my look was complete. All night long everyone told me that I looked like a Barbie doll, which is exactly how I felt about Leona’s look lol! I didn’t intend for this remix to happen, but with the neon and color blocking trend going on right now…it just kinda fell into place!
