Same Girl…Different Hair: SheaMoisture JBCO Strengthen Grow & Restore Edge Treatment

I would certainly categorize this issue as a struggle. An absolute struggle that I’ve been dealing with for 1 year, 3 months and 21 days…but who’s counting? Apparently I am, ha! Here’s my issue…after I gave birth to my son a year ago and after seven months of breastfeeding, I experienced a serious case of postpartum shedding. As thick as my hair is, it took a major toll on my hair, especially my edges. Not that my edges are completely bald, but they have certainly thinned out. And there is something about thin/missing edges that does something to a woman’s self esteem. I had to find a resolution.

Well, I’m hoping I’ve found the solution! I have been on the hunt to find SheaMoisture JBCO Strengthen Grow & Restore Edge Treatment, ever since the day it came across my radar. I say “on the hunt” because I’ve been to three Targets, two CVS stores, one Ulta and I’ve had no luck. My patience is getting thin (like my edges), so I’m gonna go ahead and order it online. I have to get my hands this product, quick!

SheaMoisture JBCO Strengthen Grow & Restore Edge Treatment $7.99

After reading a few reviews, I see that it’s a mixture of being an “edge control” to help control frizz and lay your edges down, which isn’t my main concern…I honestly don’t think there is any product in the world that can lay my edges flat lol. I’m focusing on the growth of my edges and with that being said, I’m ready to place my order!

I will be keeping you updated and posting results overtime to see if this product is what I’m hoping for, #StayTuned.

  1. Jamaican Black Castor Oil by Tropic Isle Living works wonders for growing back edges. I’ve seen it at some beauty supply stores in Detroit, and I’ve seen it at Organic Food and Vitamin Center in Ferndale. You can also order on Amazon. I’ve used it when I experienced shedding from my locs. It’s worked for others I know as well.

  2. No!!!! Don’t order it. They have it right down the street from me at CVS in West Bloomfield on Haggerty and 14 mile.

    • I lucked up and found some at the CVS on Maple!! Thanks Maia!

  3. The CVS in Ferndale on 9 mile has it. I’ve heard great things about this line, too! 🙂

  4. I have to try it! My edges have been thinning too 🙁

  5. I have been looking for something that can help grow my edges out and lay them down! thank you for sharing, I can’t wait to try it out
