Glam-Aholic Of The Week: Rachel Amaris

This week’s Glam-Aholic award goes to the stylish and gorgeous Rachel Amaris.  If I had to sum her up in one word it would be unique, with an edgy style that she pulls off like no other. Her style is more Rhianna than Beyonce, in which she channels the grace of a model walking down the catwalk…giving it honey!

She took time out of her busy schedule to talk to me about all things fashion. Her views, her tips and her love for it all. Trust me girls, take notes…she knows what she’s talking about..

Mia Ray: What does fashion mean to you?

“Fashion is definitely Art for me. It’s a way to express yourself or
maybe your alter ego. The World of Fashion is very fickle and ever
changing, but it IS a Lifestyle. So I Splurge on one thing each
season, shoes, and go modest for the rest. That way you don’t end up
with stuff you spent a lot on and is now “played out” or make you
think “what was I thinking?” And skimping on the price does not mean
losing quality. I love H&M and Forever21 because I can always find
something under my budget that doesn’t look cheap. Plus, they keep up
with whats going on in Fashion!”

Mia Ray: What are your  favorite hot spots to hit and find haute pieces?

“Urban Outfitter and Anthropologie are very eclectic. I always find
something there including books! But mostly an online shopper—
Chickdowntown.com, Denimology.com, Zara.com, and GOOGLE (for specific
searches)!!! lol”

Mia Ray: What are your favorite trends that are happening right now?

“I don’t do every trend because you don’t want to be too trendy but I love
Studs, The Utilitarian Chic Look, Bold Accessories, and Neutrals. I
LOVE LOVE LOVE taupe, clay, and sand colors especially mixed with
extremely bright colors i.e. neon pink with taupe.
I like to mix Pretty and Chic with Edgy, i.e.  Classy Blouse with
Spiked Bracelets..”

Mia Ray: What tips can you give our Confessions Of A Glam-Aholic readers on how to achieve  stylish looks?

“1. Try on everything in the store, take notes on what fits properly and
BUY IT! (Use the people who work in these stores, they can sometimes let
you know what looks right)

2. Be inspired by colors and Art. I create a look just with colors a lot
of the time based on Art, a Bird, or Magazine Cover that I came
across.

3. Your Hair can be Your Best Accessory! When I get my hair done, it
gives me ideas for how I want to look instead of spending hours trying
to find something.

4. Make it Your Own by changing the buttons/adding studs. Or, take a
fitted dress cut off the Top and wear it as a Skirt. This way no one
will wear it like you. If its the top of the dress you want, cut off
the bottom, sew the seams up, and wear with Jeans.”

I told you! Rachel Amaris is a definite TRENDSETTER. Her closet is filled with the highs and the lows that every fashionista deserves…and let’s not overlook that this girl has a MEAN shoe game.  Her body art is even inspirational along with meaningful. I mean come on…even her tattoos scream STYLE!  A standing ovation is given to her in my head every time I see the way she puts things together….this bish is the ish.
