I very RARELY wear shorts. I mean practically not…at…all. I have very thick thighs, some would call them “thunder thighs” lol! So recently it’s been extremely hot in Detroit. I’ve gone out on a limb and decided to wear shorts and encountered the problem that reminded me why I do NOT wear shorts in the first place! I like to call it the “bunch up”. You know how when your thighs rub, your shorts begin to rise up around your crotch SMH!!

So I decided to take to Twitter and ask My Auntie June Ambrose for her advice…
Now…I don’t fully agree with the first tweet of rocking a skort. BUT that second tweet was like music to my ears! “Fabric shud love, if it’s going to hug!” This is a VERY true statement. I don’t know if I’m alone in this dilemma, but I hope this helps the Glam-Aholics that feel my pain lol! So as I move forward in my pursuit to wear shorts…I’ll keep this tweet in mind 🙂
I FEEL your pain like no other and being the shorts newbie myself, I have the same dilemma! I think its all in the fit and fabric. I’m going to try cargo style short shorts….. if that doesn’t work my relationship with shorts may end before it really even began! I’ll keep you posted! lol.
I think a skort could be really cute if it was made out of flowy material. Don’t think of a 7 y/o’s denim skort, think more of a cute short pair of floral culottes. Comfy and Sexy all at the same time!
I have pretty muscular thighs and this is a problem I’ve faced for a while. I combat this by wearing shorts that cover the part of my thighs that would typically rub together. So most of my shorts come to the knee or a couple of inches from the knee. I’ve also purchased shorts that are VERY flowy, to minimize The Bunch Up.
However, the other day I went to the Gap and purchased the greatest pair of jean shorts…they’re stretchy like jeggins. Perfect fit!

Yeah…I know the feeling. My husband’s friend laughed at me til he turned red when he caught me squalking. LOL You know…thats what men do when their balls stick to their thighs while they walk so they do a sorta…squat while they are walking (squalking)…to make it not look so much like they are trying to “unstick” their balls from their thigh. Anywho…he caught me…and I was so cute too. I had on a sheer tribal print tank top (with flare) and cute little bleach washed shorts…probably about as short as yours in the pic. However, it was a bad idea to wear those shorts on a double date downtown. There was lots of walking. Needless to say, my thighs were a little burned. One thing that I know works (for me)…I am extremely pigeon toed (toes point in toward one another as I walk). As much as I try…I cannot continuously walk with my feet pointed straight ahead. However, I noticed that being pigeon toed makes my thighs rub together more than when I make a conscious effort to turn my feet straight while walking. NOPE…not all in my head. Try this: sit down, turn your toes in toward one another, now, without picking up your heels, turn your toes away from one another. SEE?!?!?! It helps to think “outward” while walking…and if you’re pigeon toed like me…don’t worry, it only FEELS like your feet are at a 90 degree angle. They really aren’t. 🙂
