Glam-Aholic Of The Week: Luiza

Mia Ray: What trends do you love that mostly describe and inspire your style? “As much as i dont want to box myself into a certain style, I would definitely say that my look is usually pretty “downtown nyc.”  Anything comfy, really! I loove, love, love vintage and I definitely make sure to marry vintage pieces with current styles when getting dressed.”

Mia Ray: What does FASHION mean to you? “It’s an extension of my personality and a reflection of my mood. you can tell if i’m feeling lazy, glam, fun, punk, chic, girly, etc through my clothing. i don’t think fashion should ever be taken too serious and people should just have fun with it.  its a creative outlet, use it as one. don’t think to much about it, just do it!”

Mia Ray: What are some of your favorite trends that are happening right now? “uhhhh…wedges are pretty me at the moment.  they’re the only reason i can survive strutting in these ny streets. haha I really love skirts and dresses that are above the knee in the front and to the ankle in the back. and i’m of course all about the loose silhouettes that everyone has been wearing for a couple years now. comfort is key to me!”

Mia Ray: What are your 3 favorite hot spots to hit and find haute pieces? “I love opening ceremony (even though i usually only window shop there). anything thrift is my best friend!! that’s pretty much it. i usually don’t shop at commercial stores. i kind of just pick random pieces up wherever I am.  I wouldn’t say i go to specific stores for myself (besides thrift)”

Mia Ray: What tips can you give our Confessions Of A Glam-Aholic readers on how to achieve stylish looks? “Make sure to be true to yourself and to your personal style. it shows when you are trying to do something that’s not you.  you’ll look uncomfortable and wont able to rock your look with as much confidence.  also, a tip i learned while working with Crystal Streets, an outfit REALLY starts with your undergarments.  If you have the wrong undergarments on, your outfit is all wrong. make sure to start with a clean foundation.”
