My all time favorite curvy girl Jessica Simpson, opens up about her weight gain for the December issue of Lucky Magazine. Throughout the years Jessica has always been criticized in the media because of her weight. Despite all the negative feedback, she has always embraced her curvaceous body! I’ve always related to Jessica because like her, I’m a naturally curvy girl and my weight fluctuates up and down all the time! It’s especially hard to remain confident when you have a million people judging you about what you eat and wear!! But when you have supportive people in your corner you can always push pass the haters! Jessica’s fans have actually commended her for not being a diet crazed celebrity! That dazzling sequin mini is everything! Ms. Simpson also dishes about her wedding and lucrative empire!
On why she ditched the ideal celebrity figure: “I like the way I look.”
On her feelings toward her recent weight gain: “Everybody fluctuates, but I’m open about my weight and I’m still confident,” says Jessica. “I didn’t cry about it too much.”
On how her altered figure has affected her brand: “I got so much scrutiny for putting on extra pounds, but I think that the decision not to make myself anorexic was actually great for branding. Because when you’re really, really skinny, not everybody can relate to you.”
On how her fans reacted to her weight gain: “All kinds of women started coming up to me and saying what an example I was setting by not constantly dieting.”
On the importance of being involved in her brand: “If it has my name on it, I want my stamp of approval to be on it I want to keep my customers coming back. So it’s going to be important to me in these next years to stay focused on the collection.”
On her role in creating the Jessica Simpson empire: “I do the fun part and I let them stress about the details.”
