Mia Ray’s 2011 Holiday Style Guide

It’s one of the busiest times of the year. The hustle and bustle of trying to find everyone the perfect gift is driving me up a wall! But with all this stress and frustration, comes a load of fun and celebration! Yes, the holidays are here and that means we’ll have a list of events to attend. For those who of us who will be meeting our boyfriend’s parents, we have to make the perfect first impression. All Glam-Aholics have to be the most stylish girl at your job’s infamous holiday party, it’s not often that you get to rock your best threads around your co-workers lol! And last but not least, the one that matters the most…New Year’s Eve celebration.
Office Party: Out shine all of your co-workers by rocking sequin! Tailored sequin trousers with a crisp white button up and tuxedo blazer, will still be office appropriate…yet haute enough to leave a stylish impression on those who are use to seeing you in your suit/uniform. Accessorize with platform pumps, black bow-tie and red lips to complete your menswear inspired look!  Style your hair in the perfect ninja bun, pulled back ponytail or a bone-straight flat iron. You’ll be sure to win best dressed of the Christmas party!
Meeting The Parents: This one will have you shaking in your boots lol! You want to wear something that will make a good first impression. You want to be conservative, yet cute and stylish without overdoing it. My suggestion would be to keep it simple! Slip on your black turtleneck and dark jeggings to keep it modest, then pair that with your leopard booties with a faux fur vest for a touch of class and glam. Wave your hair, sport your favorite bag and keep your make-up VERY natural! You don’t want his mom to think you’re trying to out-do her LOL!
New Year’s Eve:  As the ball drops, your style radar will rise! For me, I like to go out with a BANG! Razzle and dazzle your look whether you’re going to church, the club or just an intimate evening with your family. But we MUST balance this sequin out, you do not wanna have a glitter overload. If you’re gonna work a sequin dress, tone down the volume of everything else. Shoes, bag and accessories should all be on ONE accord. If you want an over-the-top platform/pump/stiletto, make a simple dress scream “Happy New Year!” with a sparkling manicure, clutch and accessories. A blunt cut and festive make-up will help you to bring your new year in with style!
Let’s keep in mind ladies, these are the styles that will end your year and start off another, so make it count! These key looks will leave a stamp on your 2011 most stylish moments 😉
