I have so many other plaid shirt-dresses and I was expecting to wear this one just as casual as I would the others. When it arrived, it was super oversized and had a really nice flow to it when I walked, which caused me to change my entire plans for how I wanted to wear this dress.
I immediately thought to go “Nene Leakes chic”. Say what you want about Nene, but in my book…she has style. She knows how to dress for her size and always makes her really simple looks seem so effortlessly stylish! So, I named that vibe “Nene Leakes chic” and I am definitely a fan of it. I decided to pair this simple shirt-dress with my nude So Kate pumps (remember to keep them stretched out with your shoe trees) and a black slogan clutch. Polished off with a top knot bun, my favorite red lip and my look was complete!
My first instinct was to play it safe and pair the dress with a black shoe. Then I decided to use my nude pumps for exactly what they are…a staple piece! The nude shoe was unexpected, yet matched perfectly with my look. I received so many compliments, I think I’m going to try this theory more often lol!
